The Ultimate Goal is to have a cultural shift with large numbers of citizens identifying themselves as “The Kind of Person who supports local independent business” and make it a point that they have pride in their community. Part of the charm of Camden County is the number of small businesses and array of downtown storefronts we have. Citizens have the power to guide our community’s future; they have the power to insure that the businesses they love will make it through the next few months. Based on national publications for each $100 spent at local independents $45 is returned directly to the local economy.

Mystery Shopping Winners
The Chamber of Commerce promotes shopping local and supporting our local merchants for all your shopping needs. The Keep it in Camden "KIIC" Campaign continues to promote shopping local. It is not unusual to see many businesses with the "Shop Local, Keep it in Camden" window stickers or the "Thank You for Keeping it in Camden" buttons proudly displayed on employees uniforms.
You may often times be tempted to go to Jacksonville and shop at a mall, but will you get the type of customer service you expect? In Camden County there are many employees who give excellent customer service. When an employee or a store owner gives excellent customer service, it is very easy to visit again and again. This is what makes shopping in Camden unique, not to mention provides a stronger economy while supporting the local merchants in our community.
During the months of October, November and December, Mystery Shoppers visited many local businesses and found out firsthand what businesses are providing excellent customer service to their shoppers. The employees who provide excellent customer service were rewarded with an instant cash prize of $10 and entered into a drawing for a $200, $300 or $500 shopping spree in Camden County.
